Hi I also am a neurotic mother rather be to keep our babies safe! I think you should add pura kiki as a stainless steel option its a great product. I have 3 since have been using them for a year. the company does have several nipple choices from infant spouts to sippy spouts,a toddler straw spout, and can be used as a travel cup with lid for liquids or for snacks. You do have to change the XL nipples out every 4-6 months. Mainly because they chew on them (they are silicon).
The paint on the outside is from china but they use a special grade and give you the paint code you can look up and research. The non painted ones do better in dishwasher than the painted should be on top dishwasher crack in order for paint not to chip.
They also have silicone slip covers. The bottles stay insulated very very well. Top opening is large enough to add flavor ice cubes. In the summer condensation may make your little one clothes wet and hands. We did buy the silicone cover we bought cute socks and made our own slip cover. I would give it 4 stars only because of initial price, but they do last forever and they are so easy to keep clean. I really do love this product it’s a good investment since the child can use it birth to adulthood if they wanted.

Nothing is perfect but these come close. Love these for my kids, we just are not doing plastic anymore. My one complaint is that I would love to be able to buy replacement rings for the nipples. My kids throw them and the steel dents, one won’t stand upright anymore.

My toddler chewed through the straw piece in less than 2 months. I wanted to love this, but it was really disappointing that it doesn’t seem built well for that age group.

Sorry you had this issue. However, these are meant to be used as straws not chewed on for teething.
