Sodium Bicarbonate: Also known as baking soda, sodium bicarbonate is an odor neutralizer.
Sodium Carbonate: Also known as washing soda or soda ash, sodium carbonate is a pH adjuster. It raises the pH of the washing water, which results in more effective cleaning. For this reason it’s often referred to as a laundry ‘booster’.
Vegetable Soap:
- Sodium Cocoate: This is the chemical name of saponified (that is, ‘made into soap’) coconut oil. It’s the chemical that grabs onto both dirt and water to do the cleaning.
- Glycerin: This substance is chemically a type of alcohol and is naturally created when the oil is converted into soap. Glycerin is known for skin-softening abilities and is an effective solvent, meaning it can dissolve substances such as stains and dirts.
- Organic Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil: There is a small amount of coconut oil left in the soap after conversion to sodium cocoate. This is because we use sodium hydroxide, or lye, in the conversion process and leaving excess oil ensures there is no remaining lye in the finished product. Some soapmakers refer to this as ‘superfatting’ and more oil remaining results in a softer, more moisturizing soap. Our coconut soap has only a small amount of excess oil, so it is not the luxurious body type and more of a ‘get the job done’ soap.
- Water: Water is used in the soapmaking process as a substance that dissolves lye and then is a medium so the lye can reach all of the oil to react. After being useful in this process, the water is allowed to evaporate from the soap over a period of several weeks, and the resulting dried soap has very little water. Reusing and Refilling

Potassium Cocoate and Sodium Cocoate: These are the chemical names of saponified (that is, ‘made into soap’) coconut oil. It’s the chemical that grabs onto both dirt and water to do the cleaning.

Glycerin: This substance is chemically a type of alcohol and is naturally created when the oil is converted into soap. Glycerin is known for skin-softening abilities and is an effective solvent, meaning it can dissolve substances such as stains and dirts.All glycerin in Meliora products is a natural byproduct of the soap making process. I am a spot cleaner. I never have time to spend hours cleaning, so I love something I can grab and use on my clothes, house, or any surface for grease or dirt. Sonett Power Cleaner is super concentrated, so a little goes a VERY long way!

Sonett Orange Power Cleaner is suitable for all water-proof surfaces. Removes stubborn dirt and grease in kitchens, bathrooms, throughout the house. Sonett Bleach Complex & Stain Remover

I used to use bleach because it was so good for removing stains. Now I know better!

This is suitable for removing stains and discoloration from white and colorfast fabrics. This complex can bleach whites and helps to brighten yellowed or graying fabrics.

Made from 100% sodium per carbonate (created through the absorption of hydrogen peroxide by soda). Heat activates the hydrogen peroxide to degrade, which breaks down into water, soda and active oxygen. The oxygen molecules work by breaking down and oxidizing the stains. Particularly effective on ‘natural’ stains,such as grass, fruit etc. Bleach complex contains no optical brighteners or synthetic bleaching agents. Bleach complex will become active at 50 degrees, but when soaking overnight, will slowly release at 30 degrees.

Removes all oxidizable stains such as fruit, red wine, tea, coffee, grass, blood, etc.
Prevents graying of white fabrics and brightens yellowed and grayish laundry.

The Austin Air Bedroom Machine was used in clinical trials at the University of John Hopkins to reduce Nitrogen Dioxide levels in the homes of local residents. Unfortunately, Better Life has recently changed the formula of this product and it now contains methylisothiazolinone. This widely-used preservative is a skin irritant and suspected neurotoxin, with a Skin Deep score of 6. We will no longer be offering this product in our store.

Two other brands we like for glass cleaning are Eco-Me Glass Cleaner and Sonett Glass Cleaner.
