What Makes This Good Stuff

This water filter is installed on top of your counter, and uses KDF/GAC and carbon block filters to effectively eliminate a wide variety of common contaminants, including chlorine, chloramines, heavy metals (including lead, chromium 6, mercury), iron, aluminum, hydrogen sulfide, chemicals, DBPs (disinfection by-products), THMs (trihalomethanes), HAAs (haloacetic acids), MTBE, VOCs, many pharmaceutical products, and more. The third filter is there to remove fluoride. If you prefer to leave the fluoride in your water, you would want the 2-stage filter instead.

These come complete with a pre-filter which helps filter out larger particulates found in some water supplies. This helps extend the life of the main filter cartridges.

(Fluoride in drinking water is a controversial subject. I would personally rather have pure water coming out of my tap and have the option to add fluoride in whatever dose I feel is appropriate (most likely just via toothpaste), rather than simply accepting whatever my municipality feels is the right amount. Some studies suggest a link between high-fluoride drinking water and lower IQ, but even my holistic pediatric dentist recommends it in toothpaste.)

Note: Our countertop units require a faucet that has a removable aerator/bubbler screen. Many of the newer faucets with the pull-out sprayers have non-removable aerator screens. Check your faucet before ordering.

This filter also:
