Rectangular cotton washable rug with visible melange color canvas base in Natural and Soil Brown, with tribal design pattern on top in Natural color. Finished with a tassel in each corner.

This natural cotton rug can be machine-washed. On a re-cycled dye-free cotton base it takes on the role of a canvas into which several black and natural colored lines are woven and arranged in ethnically-inspired shapes and borders. As there are just a few woven lines, most of the base is visible and takes up much less space, making it possible to create a larger size that fits into a washing machine.

This handmade rug has been inspired by the natural colors and textures from the botanical gardens. Yarns in a mixture of soft colors has been used to create some of the details, such as the stems of the flower. Every woven flower of this artisanal rug has been carefully perfected with scissors by our craftsmen. Being a handmade rug, small differences can be produced between the different designs, for this reason no two washable rugs are the same. As a novelty, a new type of elaborate fringe has been added to the floral rug, knotted one by one by hand.

Earth Weave’s McKinley Collection is a tufted, textured, loop pile carpet made from 100% wool that is undyed and untreated with pesticides or stain/fire retardants.

The primary backing is made from natural hemp and cotton, which is bound to the yarn with all-natural rubber. The secondary backing is made of jute. This is a zero-VOC rug and free of phthalates. All edges are serged using the same colored yarn as the rug.

The McKinley Collection has a weight of 44 ounces and is 12/32″ tall. Although not as thick as the other collections, it’s suitable for both residential and light commercial applications and is the least expensive of Earth Weave’s rugs.
